Basketball
* Jackson camps: Jackson will host basketball camps at the Jackson High School. An individual skills camp will take place June 1 to 3. Players in kindergarten through second grade will go from 1 to 2:30 p.m., while players in grades 3 through 6 will go from 3 to 4:30 p.m. A second individual skills camp will take place Aug. 2 to 5. Players in grades kindergarten through 2 will go from 9 to 10:30 a.m., while players in grades 3 through 6 will go from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A shooting camp will take place June 7 to 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. Info: 204-0171.

* Flag Day scramble: The Flag Day golf tournament, a benefit four-person scramble for the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, will be played June 4 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson. * Four-person scramble: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 17th annual four-person golf scramble July 10 at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost: $160 per team and carts are $12 per person. Entry fee must be paid by 5 p.m. July 7. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Running
* Hershey's meet: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will hold the 21st annual Hershey's Track and Field meet at 5 p.m. May 13 at the Central Junior High track. Registration will run from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. The meet is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14 in Southeast Missouri and each participant may enter three events, with a maximum of two track events. Events offered will be the 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,600 and 4x100 relay as well as a standing long jump and softball throw. Local winners advance to the state meet in Jefferson City, Mo. Softball
* Co-ed slowpitch league: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will offer a co-ed slowpitch league with games played Monday nights at Arena Park field No. 5 beginning at 6 p.m. High school students ages 16 to 18 are eligible to participate. Teams will receive an eight- to 10-game schedule plus a chance for the playoffs. Every team must have a coach 21 years old or older. There will be a managers meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Osage Community Centre and at least one coach or team captain must be present. Team rosters and entry fee can be returned to the Parks and Recreation Department at the A.C. Brase Arena. Cost: $175 per team. Info: 339-6340.
Tennis
* Juniors clinic: The Cape Area Tennis Association will host a free clinic for juniors ages 6 to 18 on Saturday at the tennis complex at Southeast Missouri State. The clinic for players ages 6 to 10 will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and the clinic for players ages 11 to 18 will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Players of all abilities are invited to attend. Volleyball
* Sand leagues: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will hold co-ed sand volleyball leagues at the Arena Park sand volleyball courts. The six-on-six league will be played Mondays and Thursdays, while the four-on-four league will be played Tuesdays. Play is scheduled to begin June 1. There will be a mandatory managers meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 20 at the Osage Community Centre. Registration deadline: May 20. Info: 339-6340.
* Jackson camps: Jackson coach Maile Gannon will hold a skill development camp at the junior high school. A camp for players entering grades 6 to 8 will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. May 25 to 27.
