Baseball

* Capahas tryouts: The Plaza Tire Capahas will hold tryouts at 2 p.m. Sunday at Capaha Field. Only players will no more American Legion eligibility are eligible to try out. Info: Jess Bolen, 979-1786.

* Capahas camp: The Plaza Tire Capahas will hold their annual baseball camp for boys and girls ages 7 through 17 June 7 and 8 from 8 a.m. to noon at Capaha Field. Lunch will be served at noon June 8. * Notre Dame camps: Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett will host camps at the high school. All campers should bring a glove and cleats. There will be a camp for boys in grades 2 and 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 14 to 18. Cost: $60, which includes a T-shirt. There will be a camp for boys in grades 4 to 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. June 14 to 18. Cost: $65, which includes a T-shirt. There will be a hitting camp for grades 4 to 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. June 21 and 22. Basketball

* Southeast boys camps: The Southeast Missouri State men's basketball program will host boys basketball camps. A team camp for high school teams will take place June 18 and 19. Each squad will play a minimum of six games. Teams have the option to stay on campus. Cost is $350 per team, with a $150 deposit. An individual half-day camp will take place June 21 to 23. * Southeast girls camps: The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball program will host girls basketball camps. A skills camp for ages 6 through 18 will take place June 7 through 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $80, which includes lunch. A team camp for high school, JV, junior high and club teams will take place June 25 through 27. Each squad will play a minimum of four games plus a tournament. Cost: $300 per team for day campers (no meals or housing) or $75 per player for resident campers (all meals and housing). An elite camp for ages 12 through 18 will take place June 28 to 30. * Jackson camps: Jackson will host basketball camps at the Jackson High School. An individual skills camp will take place June 1 to 3. * Central camps: Central coach Rich Payne will host football camps for players entering grades 9 to 12 at the high school. There will be a camp from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 7 to 10. There will be a camp from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 19 to 23. There will be a camp from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 26 to 30.

Golf

* Southeast football tournament: The fifth annual TEAM golf tournament, a fundraiser for the Southeast Missouri State football program, will be played June 14 at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson. The four-person scramble begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, following registration at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon. Entry fee is $500 per team or $125 per individual. Hole sponsors are available for $100. A $750 touchdown package includes team entry, one hole sponsor and four tickets/sideline passes to a home football game. There will be a hole in one prize of a $10,000 vacation package sponsored by All Around Travel. Also, in conjunction with the tournament, an auction will be held at 6 p.m. June 13 at Kimbeland Country Club. Entry into the tournament includes dinner at the auction. * Flag Day scramble: The Flag Day golf tournament, a benefit four-person scramble for the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, will be played June 4 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson. * Four-person scramble: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 17th annual four-person golf scramble July 10 at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost: $160 per team and carts are $12 per person. Entry fee must be paid by 5 p.m. July 7. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. * Hope for Homelessness 5K: The inaugural Hope for Homelessness 5K will take place at 8 a.m. June 5 at the Clippard Elementary School. Cost: $25. Info: Varonnica Kirn, 335-8111.

* Pole vault camp: Notre Dame will host a pole vaulting camp for boys and girls in grades 6 to 8. It is designed for beginners and will teach the fundamentals of the sport. The five-day camp will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 14 to 18 and cost $60. The 10-day camp will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 14 to 18 and June 21 to 25 and cost $110. * Central camps: Central coaches Liz Fleer and Dan Martin will host soccer camps at the high school. There will be a camp for players ages 5 to 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 19 to 22. The camp for boys and girls in grades 1 and 2 will be from 8 to 9:45 a.m., while the camp for players in grades 3 to 6 will be from 8 to 10 a.m. All campers will be required to wear shin guards. * Summer league practices: The Gators will begin their summer league season Monday at the Central Municipal Pool. Swimmers ages 4 to 18 are invited to take part. Practice will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily. Cost: $130 for nine weeks or $3 per day.

Volleyball

* Jackson camps: Jackson coach Maile Gannon will hold a skill development camp at the junior high school. A camp for players entering grades 6 to 8 will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday.
