* Cape Legion tryouts: Cape Girardeau Ford & Sons Post 63 American Legion baseball will conduct tryouts April 10 at Capaha Field. In case of rain, tryouts will be held at Balls-n-Strikes indoor facility. * Jackson Babe Ruth tryouts: The Jackson Senior Babe Ruth baseball team will hold tryouts at 1:30 p.m. April 10 at Saxony Lutheran High School. The team is open to all players ages 16 to 19. In case of rain, tryouts will be held April 17. Info: Paul Sander, 270-9535.

Golf

* Southeast baseball tournament: The Southeast Missouri State baseball program will hold its seventh annual Joe Uhls golf tournament April 15 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson. The four-person scramble will feature three flights in morning and afternoon sessions. Cost: $200 per player. Entry fee includes Redhawks apparel, meal, refreshments and practice balls. * Shrine Club tournament: The Cape Girardeau Shrine Club's 16th annual golf scramble will take place at 1 p.m. May 20 at Bent Creek Golf Course. Cost: $80 per person, which includes lunch from noon to 12:45 p.m., 18 holes and a cart. Deadline: May 13. Info: Eddie Schreiner, 243-5503.

Running

* Nutrition clinic: Ghisallo Running will sponsor a running nutrition clinic at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Casa Mexicana restaurant. The clinic, which is free, will offer nutrition facts and tips for creating a plan for a race or long run. Info: Ghisallo Running, 803-1193.

Softball

* Girls fastpitch league: The Shawnee Park Sports Complex will host a Wednesday night girls fast-pitch league. There will be four divisions: 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U. Games begin June 1.
