* Youth sign-ups: The Cape Youth Baseball League will hold sign-ups for players ages 5 to 15. Nearly Perfect Shoes will host sign-ups from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 28. Info: Percy Huston, 278-6763.
* Youth sign-ups: The Jackson Boys Baseball League will accept registrations in the community room at Jackson City Hall, on the third floor above the library. Registrations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 27, 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 and 1 to 4 p.m. March 3. Registration forms also can be found at www.jblbaseball.org.
Basketball
* Doctors vs. lawyers game: The 17th annual doctors vs. lawyers basketball game to benefit the Community Counseling Center Foundation will take place at 5 p.m. March 6 at the Central High School gym. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. There will be a postgame party at the Osage Community Centre. * Capahas auction: The annual Plaza Tire Capahas auction will be April 10 at the American Legion hall on Thomas Drive in Cape Girardeau. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the auction beginning at 9 a.m. A wide variety of items will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the Capahas, among the nation's oldest amateur baseball teams. Running
* Grand opening run: The Ghisallo Running's grand opening 5K and 1-mile fun run will take place at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at Arena Park. All participants receive a $20 Ghisallo Running gift card. Cost: $25 or $35 on race day. Info or to register: www.splitmastertiming.com.
Tennis
* Juniors tournament: The Jammin' Juniors tennis tournament will take place Feb. 27 at the Class Act Family Fitness Center in Jackson. The tournament for players ages 10 to 18 will begin at 9 a.m. Cost: $20, which includes a T-shirt, balls, pizza lunch and drinks. Deadline: Monday. Info: Donna Ryan, 270-4570.
