Women's league: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is offering a women's basketball league with play beginning Jan. 12. Games will be played on Thursday nights at the Osage Community Centre. The cost is $211.68 per team, and the registration deadline is today. Info: Amy Roth, 334-2859.

Men's league: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is accepting team registrations through Monday for the men's basketball league. League play begins Jan. 4. Games will be played on Monday through Thursday nights, Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons at the Osage Community Centre and the Arena Building. The cost is $278.90 per team. Info: 335-5421.

Running

Resolution Run: The Southeast Missouri Hospital's HealthPoint Fitness and Arby's are sponsoring a 5-kilometer run (and walk) on Jan. 1. The event, open to all ages, begins at noon at HealthPoint Plaza, 2126 Independence St. in Cape Girardeau. No times will be kept nor will awards be given. The entry fee is $10.
