Southeast Missouri State University will hold several golf camps and clinics for youngsters in the area this summer.

The camps and clinics will be conducted by Southeast golf coach Carroll Williams. For information or to enroll in any of the events, call Williams at (573) 651-2467 or the Southeast athletic department at (573) 651-2113.

Following is a brief rundown of the events:

Introduction to Golf (ages 7-12): June 29-30 and July 1. Designed to introduce youngsters to the game. Each player will receive one hour of instruction per day and practice hitting balls on the Southeast range. Cost is $35. Each player will receive a golf club to keep.

Junior Golf Clinic (ages 12-16): July 13-14-15. Designed to improve the game of young players who wish to play in junior events around the midwest. Held at Southeast Discount Golf, times are from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day. Emphasis will be placed on the improvement of players' technique and score reduction. Cost is $70. Lunch will be provided each day.

Advanced Clinic: July 19-20-21. Targeted to players who have or desire to have experience in playing competitive golf, possibly at the high school level. Held at Southeast Discount Golf, times are from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day. Emphasis will be on improving course management skills and improving scoring techniques. Cost is $70. Lunch will be provided each day.
