AREA BRIEFS: BROADWAY MILE TO BE HELD OCT. 9

The 1999 Southeast Missouri State University Homecoming Broadway Mile walk/run will be held on Oct. 9, just before the homecoming parade.

The first male and female to finish the mile will receive a $100 savings bond.

All participants will receive a commemorative cup, key chain and a free ticket to the homecoming football game at 1 p.m.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Southeast Missouri Hospital parking lot at the intersection of Broadway and West End. The fee will be $9 for adults and $8 for Southeast Alumni members, students and groups with three or more family members.

Participants can save $1 by registering by Sept. 22 at Wellness Advantage, located in the Student Recreation Center at Southeast.

Registration forms are also available at First National Bank, Commerce Bank, Capaha Bank and Schnucks.
