The Jackson Optimist Youth Soccer Association will sponsor a beginner referee instruction class for persons 14 year or older.
Instruction will include 16 hours of classroom work plus a certification test. Any participant who passes the test will be encouraged to register with the United States Soccer Federation.
The instruction class will cost each participant $20. The cost for USSF registration will be $25. Anyone from the surrounding area interested in becoming a soccer referee is welcome to attend.
The area is in need of adults to be certified and registered for local tournaments.
The class will meet at Main Street Fitness in Jackson at the following times: Friday, March 3, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday, March 4, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, March 5, 1-5 p.m.
