AREA BRIEFS: BASKETBALL HOTSHOT CONTEST ON NOV. 13

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring their 12th annual Basketball Hotshot Contest on Saturday, Nov.

13, at the Osage Community Centre. Registration will be from 9-9:30 a.m. and the free event begins at 10. The event, open to boys and girls ages 9-18, consists of three one-minute time trials of shooting at designated spots on the court. Each spot has a different point value. Trophies will be given to the top five in each age group (9-12, 13-15, 16-18).Participants can preregister by mailing in the registration form or by bringing it to the Parks and Recreation office located at A.C.
