Jackson Optimist girls basketball signups

Signups for Jackson Optimist girls basketball will be held Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jackson Middle School.

The program is for girls in Grades 3-8 who reside in the Jackson School District. The league is sponsored by the Jackson Noon Optimist and the Jackson Evening Optimist.

1998 Mark Hogan baseball camps

A hitting and baserunning camp, which will be instructed by Southeast Missouri State head baseball coach Mark Hogan, the Southeast baseball staff, area coaches and selected Southeast players, will be held at Houck Field House Dec. 12-13.

On Dec. 19-20, Hogan and the Southeast baseball staff will instruct a pitching and catching camp.

For both camps, children ages 7 to eighth grade will meet from 8 a.m. to noon. Ninth-grade through junior college participants will convene from 1-5 p.m.
