Hale captures tennis title
Rob Hale won the men's open singles title at the St. Patrick's Day tennis tournament at Class Act Family Fitness Center.
Hale defeated Bill Bradley 6-2, 6-3 in the final.
Emilie Miederhoff swept Terri Popp 6-2, 6-0 in the women's final.
In men's A singles, Ish Patel downed Gary Loos 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
In men's doubles, Shane Anderson and Mitch Kinder rallied in three sets to defeat Troy Bell and Lonnie Mobley. Anderson and Kinder won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Jerry Kinnaman and Kristi Lazarova won the mixed doubles title with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory against Mike Keefe and Jan Keefe.
Doctors win rivalry game
Nathan McGuire scored 16 points to help the Doctors continue their domination of the Lawyers in their annual basketball rivalry.
The Doctors won 64-33 to improve to 14-2 in the annual game, which was played at Central High School and benefits the Community Counseling Center Foundation.
Brandon Sanchez netted a team-high 14 points for the Lawyers.
Spradling records hole in one
Pam Spradling used a 7-hybrid to record an ace on hole No. 8 at the Cape Girardeau Country Club on Tuesday.
The hole was playing 95 yards, and it was Spradling's first hole in one of her career.
Dave and Flo Johnson and Connie Fox witnessed the shot.
