Puisis led the Indians to a 23-4 record and second straight Christmas Tournament title by averaging 21.1 points per game. Puisis was deadly from the outside with a 47 percent average from 3-point range along with 81 percent shooting from the free throw line.
Mark Dannenmueller, 6-5, sr., Scott City
Dannenmueller was one of the area's top scorers with a school-record 28 points a game. Dannenmueller scored less than 20 points in a game only four times and played more than sparingly in just one of those games. Dannenmueller also averaged 9.5 rebounds and shot 86 percent from the line.
Kendal Deason, 5-11, sr., Kelly
Deason led Kelly to a runner-up finish in the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament as a No. 7 seed by averaging 21 points per game. The Hawks finished with 21-6 and earned a No. 1 seed in the Class 3 District 2 tournament before losing to eventual state runner-up Charleston in the district championship game. Deason shot 89 percent from the free throw line.
Alex Armbruster, 6-1, sr., St. Vincent
Armbruster led a St. Vincent squad that was unranked throughout the season to a runner-up finish in Class 2. The Indians had winning streaks of nine and 12 games with the help of an 18.9 point per game average from Armbruster. Armbruster also averaged 6.7 assists a game.
Jeff Liggins, 6-2, jr., Bell City
Liggins was the leader of a Bell City squad that made the final four for the third time in four years. Liggins averaged 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. Liggins had a pair of double-doubles in the state final four, where Bell City finished fourth.
