Advance falls short vs. South Iron

Playing their most important regular-season game of the year Saturday, a strong finish was not enough to overcome a poor start for Advance at Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

The Hornets rallied from a 19-point third-quarter deficit to pull within two on Jeremy Limbaugh's 3-pointer in the final minute, but South Iron held on for a 69-66 win in a game that will likely decide the No. 1 seed in the Class 2 District 2 tournament.

Limbaugh led Advance with 24 points despite being hobbled by knee problems that sidelined him Friday against Delta. James Masters added 14 points and Trenton Moses scored 12 for the Hornets.
