The Mets wrapped up a near-perfect season in the SEMO Fall Baseball League for 15- to 18-year-old boys on Sunday by claiming the championship in the postseason tournament at Jackson's American Legion Field.

The Mets, who finished 10-1 during the regular season, was unscathed in the double-elimination tournament. The Mets beat the regular-season runner-up Orioles 6-4 in the final round.

Sam Sander was the winning pitcher for the Mets in the finale. He also had two hits in the game.

Trevor Irwin and Josh Taylor each had two hits as well. Cory Chamberlain closed out the final game on the mound.

The Orioles, who finished 8-4 in the regular season for second place, had lost 5-4 to the third-place Angels in the opening round but battled back through the losers bracket by eliminating the Dodgers and the Rockies before avenging the loss to the Angels.

Lance Young pitched a no-hitter for the Orioles in the 2-0 victory in the elimination bracket final. Trevor Irwin had two hits in the game.

Josh Boyer pitched a complete game for the Mets in the winners bracket final, a 13-3 win that sent the Angels into the losers bracket.

Sander was 5-0 for the year with a 1.68 ERA, and Boyer was 3-0 with a 1.94 ERA. Chamberlain had two saves for the Mets.

Chamberlain led the offense with a .539 average with 14 runs scored while Sander hit .500 with 10 runs scored and Crader hit .444 with 16 runs scored.
