Scott City (3-1) at Chaffee (2-2)

Last week: Chaffee 13, Walnut Ridge, Ark. 6; Fredericktown 43 Scott City 12.

Last year's meeting: Scott City 36, Chaffee 6.

Potosi (3-1) at Perryville (3-1)

Last week: Park Hills Central 25, Perryville 17; Potosi 28, Herculaneum 7.

Last year's meeting: Potosi 37, Perryville 14.

Notes: Perryville is coming off its first loss of the season after starting out 3-0. Pirates coach Rick Chastain said his team appeared distracted by the emotional win from the week before when the team beat Ste. Genevieve for the first time in 14 years. The team did not play too poorly in its eight-point loss to Parks Hills Central. Kris Cottner had a productive day running the ball with 21 carries for 106. Quarterback Josh Perreault threw for 102 yards. But Perryville dug a hole for itself with turnovers.

Central (1-3) at St. Charles West (1-3)

Last week: Central 51, St. Charles 33; Timberland 27, St. Charles West 14.

Last year's meeting: Central 34, St. Charles West 10.

Notes: After starting the season by getting routed three times, Central finally picked up its first win of the season in Week 4 -- an 18-point victory over St. Charles. The Tigers put up some big offensive statistics, led by a backfield that had 50 carries for 330 yards. Derek Walker took 14 of those handoffs for 125 yards. Cantrell Andrews had 103 yards on his 16 carries. Still, the Tigers struggled on defense, surrendering 33 points. That was a little bit better than the past three weeks, but the defense has struggled all season. Central gives up 48.8 points per game, the highest of any team in the area by two touchdowns.

St. Vincent (2-2) at Festus St. Pius (0-4)

Last week: Maplewood 35, St. Vincent 0; John Burroughs 28, Festus St. Pius 10.

Last year's meeting: St. Vincent 9, St. Pius 0.

Notes: St. Vincent will take on St. Pius, a team it slipped by last year by kicking three field goals and holding on defensively. Last week the Indians were shut out by Maplewood, the preseason conference favorite. Through their first three games, the Indians have been outscored 61-44.

Still, they have managed to win two contests. At this point last year, St. Vincent was 1-3 then went 6-2, including 1-1 in the playoffs.
