JACKSON -- Funeral service for Thelka E. Bruening of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lawrence Eatherton will officiate, with burial in Jackson City Cemetery.

McCombs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bruening, 82, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1992, at her home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1910, at Manito, Ill., daughter of the Rev. Theodore and Louise Flachsbart Sieving. She and Paul H. Bruening were married Aug. 20, 1944.

Mrs. Bruening had been a member of St. Paul Church since 1944, and was a former choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of St. Paul's College Guild.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rev. Stephen Bruening of Alexandria, Minn., James Bruening of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Ruth Boehne of Hoyleton, Ill.; a sister, Concordia Prange of Watseka, Ill., and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.
