SYLVIA MESSMER

KELSO -- Sylvia Ann Messmer, 92, of Kelso died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 10, 1905, at Kelso, daughter of Andrew and Annie Scherer Heisserer. She and Ervin F. Messmer were married Nov. 27, 1927. He died Jan. 18, 1986.

Messmer had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Messmer of Gordonville, Raymond Messmer of Scott City; two daughters, Marlene Morton of Cape Girardeau, Claudine Scheeter of Danville, Ill.; a brother, Eddie Heisserer of Scott City; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 3 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 6.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
