VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- The Rev. Harley Joe Showalter Sr., 58, of Villa Ridge, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at his home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1948, at Cairo, son of Harry and Clara Showalter.

Showalter was the owner of the H.S. Auto Salvage Yard in Cairo and was founder and pastor of God's House in Villa Ridge.

Survivors include his wife, Sally H. Showalter of Villa Ridge; his father, of Cairo; two sons, Harley J. Showalter Jr. of Villa Ridge, Rondald Davis of Cairo; three daughters, Veronica Showalter of Aiken, S.C., Melissa Cain of Olive Branch, Ill., and Lisa Davis of Wickliffe, Ky.; two brothers, Donnie Showalter of Irving, Texas, and Charles Showalter of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Carolyn Condor of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at God's House.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge.
