RAYMOND C. SCHAEFER

ANNA, Ill. -- Raymond Charles Schaefer, 89, of Anna, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 11, 1904, at Benton, Mo., son of Adam and Cora Halter Schaefer. He and Lena Mildred Markert were married July 19, 1924, at Anna.

Schaefer was retired from Trojan Powder Co. at Wolf Lake. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Moose Lodge 1346 in Anna.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Eugene and Cyril Schaefer of Anna, Carrol Schaefer of Cape Girardeau, Jimmie Schaefer of Jonesboro; a daughter, Ellen Sergent of Lebo, Kan.; two brothers, Ervin Schaefer of Burbank, Calif., Elmer Schaefer of Oran, Mo.; a sister, Lucille Ledure of Benton, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Tom Miller will officiate, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be at 7.
