CAIRO, Ill. -- Louisa Blakemore, 91, of Burke, Va., formerly of Alexander County, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at her home.
She was born Feb. 17, 1913, in Cairo, daughter of Ernest and Amelia Barsuhn Hoppe. She and the Rev. John Blakemore were married June 23, 1935. He died June 20, 1993.
Blakemore was a member, pianist and organist at Harrison Street Bible Church, where her husband and a son pastored.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Tye of Burke; a son, Paul Blakemore of Shrewsbury, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., Sunday from noon until time of service.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
