Larry Welker

Larry Gene "L.G." Welker, 71, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Southeast Hospital due to an aneurysm.

He was born May 23, 1951, to Helen and Dennis "Red" Welker in Cape Girardeau. He and Kathryn Welker have been married since Nov. 28, 1985.

L.G. purchased ST Renovation from his father in 1974 and became owner/operator for more than 33 years, until his retirement in 2007.

He is survived by his spouse, Kathryn Welker; daughter, Erica (Brian) Anderson; grandchildren, Tyler (McKynlee) Anderson and Brooke Anderson; sisters, Judy Welker and Janice (Don) Schrieber; brothers, Richard (Judie) Welker and Mark (Marla) Welker; nieces, Sara (Ben) Quick, Brooke Breuer, Rachel (Rod) Durham, Melisa Welker, Amy Jo Welker, Crystal Welker, Lauralee Schrieber and Sierra Schrieber; and nephew, Cole (Cristal) Welker. He also leaves behind his beloved 14-year-old dog, Laura. They will meet again soon and continue their daily walks together.

L.G. was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Welker; and sister-in-law, Honey Welker.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no funeral services.
