PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvira A. Schamburg, 90, of Perryville died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at her home.
She was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Highland, Mo., daughter of John F. and Mamie Lukefahr Renaud. She and Hubert A. Schamburg were married Dec. 1, 1943. He died May 12, 1998.
Schamburg was a retired seamstress for Ollie Moore's Dress Factory. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Survivors include five sons, John Schamburg of Festus, Mo., Harvey, Ralph, Dale and David Schamburg, all of Perryville; two daughters, Joyce Zahner and Doris Mattingly of Perryville; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, a sister and a grandson.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The wake will be at 7:45 tonight, and the rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Rick Valleroy officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
