CAIRO, Ill. -- Eldon White, 91, of Cairo died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 10, 1914, at Waverly, Tenn., son of Deering and Alice Knight White. He married Nannie White.
White was a linotype operator for 27 years at the Cairo Evening Citizen and owner of Tri-State Printing in Cairo prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Mighty Rivers Worship Center in Cairo, serving as a lifetime member and chairman of the Board of Deacons. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald White of Austin, Texas, Kenneth White of Corinth, Miss., Gary White of West Jordan, Utah; a sister, Dorothy Dowden of Martin, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Mighty Rivers Worship Center in Cairo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
