Della Frances Baker, 105, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation. She was born Jan. 16, 1894, at Morganfield, Ky., daughter of Abson and Anna Boutwell Duncan. She married Bennie Baker Sr. Dec. 12, 1917, at East Prairie. He died Dec. 19, 1941...

Della Frances Baker, 105, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born Jan. 16, 1894, at Morganfield, Ky., daughter of Abson and Anna Boutwell Duncan. She married Bennie Baker Sr. Dec. 12, 1917, at East Prairie. He died Dec. 19, 1941.

She had lived in East Prairie for 25 years before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1930. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the Westside Senior Citizens and the Kitchen Band. She did volunteer work for the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include two sons, Allan Baker of Independence and Jim Baker of Sikeston; a daughter, Shirley Gibson of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, seven brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
