Charlene Markland, 80, of Scott City died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 9, 1933, in Winn, Arkansas. She married Charles Edward Markland on April 17, 1959. Survivors include her husband, Charles of Scott City; two sons, Chuck (Becky) Markland of Scott City and Chris (Kim) Markland of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Cut-right of Scott City; a sister, Mary Lou Phipps of Scott City; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.. ...

She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Markland.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
