Two attend Nurse Advocacy Day

Two Southeast Missouri Hospital nurses recently attended the Nurse Advocacy Day in Jefferson City. Steve Woods and Michele Griffin met with area legislators Rep. Jason Crowell, Rep. Scott Lipke and Sen. Peter Kinder.

Both are students at Southeast Missouri State University. Woods, vice president of the local student nurses association, is working toward a BSN in nursing; Griffin is enrolled in the RN-BSN program.

Sponsored by the Missouri Nurses Association, the event allowed nurses and nursing students the opportunity to lobby state legislators about current health-care concerns.
