Special traffic arrangements will be in place in the area around Arena Park for the SEMO District Fair, according to a news release from the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
The fair begins Saturday. "No Parking" signs will be placed around Arena Park today and will be enforced beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. All vehicles parked in a "No Parking" or "Restricted Parking" area will be towed at the owner's expense, according to the news release.
"No Parking" signs will also be placed in Capaha Park, along North West End Boulevard and along Perry Avenue today to control parking for Monday's fair parade. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, and Capaha Park will be closed starting at 6 a.m. Monday to all vehicles but those taking part in the parade. Parade participants can be dropped off at the park entrance at West End Boulevard and Normal Avenue.
West End Boulevard will be closed from Broadway to Normal Avenue at 4 p.m. Monday for the parade. Broadway west of West End Boulevard and Kingshighway between Cape Rock Drive and Broadway will be closed during the parade, and Broadview Street will be closed from Spartech Drive north to the entrance to Arena Park for a short time after the parade. Southbound traffic on Kingshighway will be detoured west on Hopper Road.
