Salvation Army Christmas events
Kettle workers began ringing bells for the Salvation Army Nov. 10 at area shopping spots around Cape Girardeau and Jackson, working toward a goal of $269,300. Bell ringing ends Dec. 24. Money will be used for the operation of the Salvation Army. Christmas basket applications began Nov. 3 and will continue being accepted at the Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope, Cape Girardeau from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. until Nov. 21. For eligibility bring a picture ID for the person signing up; social security cards for other individuals in the household; proof of address, income and expenses. The Salvation Army Kettle kickoff will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at West Park Mall. Christmas music will be performed and special guests will be in attendance.
