Rep. Kathy Swan, R-Cape Girardeau, introduced legislation Tuesday that would change prevailing wage laws.

Swan said in a news release that her bill has three main components, including a provision that would establish prevailing wage rates in counties that lack published rates for an occupational title; a requirement for companies entering into construction contracts with a public body to participate in a wage survey process; and a requirement that employees of a public body performing construction work would have the appropriate training, professional registration, licensure or professional certification required for the occupational title.
