CHAFFEE - Two Parents as Teachers meetings will be held Thursday in Chaffee.
The meetings for parents will be at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the Parents as Teachers office in the High School Arts Building, 109 N. Fifth St. The organization serves the Chaffee, Delta, Kelly, Kelso, and Scott City school districts.
Marilyn Schlosser of Southeast Missouri State University's Workshop on Wheels will present the first meeting, which will focus on creative arts. The meeting is for parents with children from birth up to 4 years.
A range of activities for both parent and children to work on are planned. Participants should dress casually and bring on old shirt for their children to wear. Snacks and door prizes will also be available.
The second meeting will focus on language development and listening skills for 3- and 4-year-olds. Speech therapist Julie Tipton will be guest speaker.
Snacks and door prizes, as well as free babysitting, will also be available at the second meeting.
