MURRAY, Ky. -- A 20-year-old Murray State cheerleader died Friday at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., from injuries suffered in an accident March 18.
Ginger Adams died at 11:58 a.m. She was a junior English major at Murray State.
"This is a great loss for Ginger's family, Murray State University and the entire community," university President Kern Alexander said.
"Our thoughts and our prayers are with her family."
Adams was among a dozen Murray State cheerleaders and their sponsor who were injured in an accident on Interstate 24 near Cadiz, Ky.
The students were returning to Murray State from the Nashville airport, having performed at the Murray State Racers' appearance in the NCAA regional basketball tournament in Tallahassee, Fla.
Adams' parents, Hafford and Joanna Adams of Murray, have established a memorial scholarship.
