MINER -- An Arkansas man was killed and a Cape Girardeau man seriously injured in an accident early Wednesday morning along Interstate 55.

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Steven Davidson, 38, of Cabot, Ark., was killed when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer driven by Stanley Price, 33, of Bolton, Miss.

Patrol officers said that Davidson's motorcycle couldn't be seen by Price because of foggy driving conditions. The accident happened at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday two miles north of Miner.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Frank Snider, 20, of Cape Girardeau was seriously injured. Both Davidson and Snider were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

It was the 32nd fatality reported in the Troop E district this year.
