Simmons awarded grant from PEO chapter LY; Ceremony held for adult education graduates; School district officials go to state conference

Central grad selected to join honor society at KU

Trevor Blattner, a graduate of Central High School, was selected for membership in Phi Kappa Phi honor society at the University of Kansas. Blattner earned a 4.0 GPA for six consecutive semesters. He will graduate in May 2006 with a degree in human biology and plans to attend the UMKC School of Dentistry. He is the son of Rick and Tracy Blattner.

Simmons awarded grant from PEO chapter LY

PEO chapter LY recently presented Marlya K. Simmons with a $1,800 PEO grant for continuing education to further her nursing education.

Ceremony held for adult education graduates

The 2005 GED student graduation of the Cape Girardeau Adult Education and Literacy program was held Oct. 20. Thirty-seven of the125 graduates were available to take part in the ceremony.

School district officials go to state conference

The Missouri School Boards Association held its annual conference from Oct. 20 to 23 at the Lake of the Ozarks. Dr. Steve Trautwein, Sharon Mueller, Tim Arbiter and Laura Sparkman from the Cape Girardeau Public School District attended.
