BENTON -- The Future Farmers of America and Future Homemakers of America chapters at Kelly High School recently conducted their first joint barn warming in the Vocational Agriculture Building. More than 200 FFA and FHA members attended.

In other Kelly High School news, the horticulture class landscaped the front of the Kelly Elementary School. Students in Robert Gosche's class planned and designed the project during the first three weeks of school.
Students cleaned the area, planted shrubs and applied a weed barrier and mulch, making the elementary school more attractive.
Additional landscaping is planned for future classes.
Horticulture class participants were: Norman Baker, Jerry Bridwell, Travis Burger, Jeremy Craft, Jamie Essner, Kari Essner, Brandon Gage, Tami Hall, Heather Lentz, Joey Mack, Jason Plain, Jennifer Riley, Lisa Robey and Chad Seiler.
The students are raising a crop of poinsettias for Christmas and working on a plant specimen collection.
