Attempted stealing charges were filed Friday following a break-in at Sappington Pro Outdoor in Jackson the night before, according to Jackson police.
Police responded Thursday evening to an alarm going off at the store on East Jackson Boulevard and attempted to stop a trailer seen leaving the area.
The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot and police dogs from Jackson and Cape Girardeau were used to track the suspects, said Lt. Rodney Barnes, spokesman for the Jackson Police Department.
The police were led to Melanie C. Wiggington, 29, of Paragould, Ark., by further investigation.
Wiggington was charged with possession of burglar's tools, attempted stealing and trespassing. An arrest warrant was issued Friday. Charges are pending for another suspect in the case, Barnes said.
