Sixty-five teenagers from Jackson's First General Baptist Church are being thrust into simulated poverty Saturday at 6 a.m.

Church youth director Pam Cook says for 30 hours the 7th through 12th graders "will starve for food" ... as that is the theme of the international event sponsored by World Vision to raise money for the world's hungry.

Cook said in an interview with KZIM KSIM 840 million people on Earth don't have enough to eat, so after a good breakfast the kids will face a NEW reality.
