ANNA, Ill. -- A Union County, Ill., man was arrested Monday on child pornography charges stemming from an investigation that involved the FBI and Illinois State Police, according to a news release from Union County State's Attorney Tyler Edmonds. Robert Joe Poff, 56, is charged with one count of child pornography and six counts of aggravated child pornography. Poff is alleged to have possessed pornographic computer images and video of children younger than 13. The offenses allegedly took place at his Lime Kiln Road residence in Anna in May 2009. Per Illinois law, aggravated child pornography charges are for those who possess, manufacture or distribute child pornography involving children younger than 13. Poff is being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro, Ill., on $500,000 bond. He will be in court for a preliminary hearing March 3 at the Union County Courthouse.
