JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Gov. Bob Holden on Friday nominated the first three members of the new State Board of Senior Services.
The seven-member board will advise the director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services on aging issues.
Selected were Lillian Metzger of Troy, who currently serves on the Governor's Advisory Council for Aging; Marie Nowak of St. Louis, who has been active in the AARP; and Jeffrey Kerr of Rolla, a physician specializing in geriatric medicine.
The nominees are subject to state Senate approval.
The Missouri Department of Health was renamed to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services under a new law transferring the Division of Aging from the Department of Social Services to the smaller health department.
