About 50 customers and employees were evacuated from Cape Girardeau's Hobby Lobby Friday morning after fallen power lines caught the building's roof on fire.
According to store manager Dave Vaughn and Cape Girardeau Fire Department battalion chief Steve Niswonger, the fire started when a private sanitation truck dumping trash knocked over power lines onto the roof of Hobby Lobby.
When the building's electricity went out, Vaughn investigated outside, discovered the fire and evacuated the building. Vaughn said the store will likely reopen Friday afternoon.
