EMERSON TO HOLD ANNUAL POLITICAL PICNIC ON AUG. 14

U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson will hold her annual political picnic on Aug. 14 at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for the fund-raising event.

Republican candidates for statewide office have been invited to attend, along with other elected officials.

Tickets are $10 per person. There is no charge for children under 10 years of age.

Atalie Ebersole, Emerson's campaign manager, said the picnic annually draws about 500 people in non-election years and about 700 to 800 in election years.
