The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau has developed a knack for promoting Southeast Missouri when it helps coordinate sizable family reunions.
"Family reunions are a great way of telling people who have come from outside the state what there is to do here," Kim Groves, who is a tour planner for the Convention and Visitors Bureau, said.
The bureau has helped organize the Vandivort reunion the last few years and is already working on plans for the 1996 reunion.
"We can give them brochures through the mail so they can plan ahead," Groves said.
The bureau also works with class reunions. "We can help you go that extra step to make the weekend more memorable," Groves said. "We provide tours and help them organize reunions. It might be something as simple as providing name tags or suggestions on places that might be interesting to visit."
