CHAFFEE, Mo. -- A Chaffee man was killed Monday afternoon when a riding lawn mower he was working on fell and crushed him. Paul Traw, 63, of Highway 77, had been taking the blades off the mower, apparently working alone at his business, Traw's Auto Shop, said Scott County deputy coroner Jerry Goin. Apparently, the lawn mower fell off the jack stands holding it up. The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday; Traw's wife discovered his body about 30 minutes later. The Scott County Sheriff's Department and the North Scott County Ambulance Service responded. Goin pronounced Traw dead at the scene.
