Cape Girardeau man, 42, dies from gunshot wound; no suspect identified. Police seek public's help for information on the incident.

A Cape Girardeau man died early Sunday, July 14, after being shot in the 400 block of Broadway in Cape Girardeau, authorities said.

A release from the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad says Linard Thomas, 42, arrived at a local hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Thomas died a short time later.

Cape Girardeau Police Department officers determined the shooting occurred inside a building at 417 Broadway.

As of early Monday morning, no suspect had been identified. Authorities have not released information regarding a possible motive for the shooting.
