The first regular performance of the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the band shell in Capaha Park.
"Strike Up the Band" is the theme, with Ronald Nall conducting. Nona Chapman, a soprano soloist, will be guest entertainer, and Cape Girardeau Mayor Al Spradling will be the celebrity guest director.
Selections will include "Strike Up the Band," "Dedicatory Overture," "Flutes, Flutes, Flutes," "Riders for the Flag March," "Irving Berlin: The Early Years," "His Honor March," "Atlantic Avenue," and selection from Hello Dolly.
Those attending should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Admission is free.
