A Cape Girardeau man accused of robbing three retail outlets at gunpoint was bound over to circuit court Thursday to appear for arraignment March 16. Gregory D. Williams, 33, of 321 Albert St., 32, is charged with three counts of first degree robbery and one count of attempted escape from custody facing up to 94 years imprisonment if convicted of all charges. Williams reportedly robbed the Payless shoe store Feb. 3, the Sally Beauty Supply store Dec. 24 and the Dollar General store on Jan. 6. Williams attempted an escape from police Feb. 9 when he leapt from a moving patrol car enroute to the Cape Girardeau County jail, where he remains in custody. Patricia A. Sutton, 42, of 925 William St., accused of being Williams' accomplice in the Jan. 6 armed robbery of the Dollar General store, was released on a $100,000 bond Thursday with the condition she not leave Cape Girardeau County. Sutton has an April 4 preliminary hearing scheduled in Cape Girardeau court. Sutton is charged with first degree robbery, a felony, and false imprisonment, a misdemeanor.
