Community involvement: Various organizations; Philanthropy donates 10 percent of profits to charities, including local ones
What do you love about your work?
I love business! One of my addictions and hobbies is financial analysis. I am probably the only person in the world that gets excited about bank statements and Excel spreadsheets. A few years ago, I prayed for a job that allows me to use my passion for business to inspire others and give back. I worked for many years for other people and became so overwhelmed with climbing the corporate ladder. Now, I work for the Lord and that spiritual gift of business administration is able to be used for His purposes.
What motivates or inspires you?
Since opening Philanthropy, I have been inspired by so many different people. I believe that every person we meet is not a coincidence. They are put in our lives for a reason, and I have been touched by so many people ranging from the cancer survivor that shared her story of strength and faith to the local homeless gentleman that comes in the store because He is drawn to our mission. My inspiration comes from these people and my Lord that continues to provide the opportunity for us to meet.
What's the most satisfying part about your work?
As much as I love the business part of my job -- analyzing sales and entering inventory -- I am most satisfied and happy when I get to share my testimony with others and hear their stories of struggle and conquering it with faith. At Philanthropy, we are happiest when we can read a new prayer on the prayer wall, give a new friend a giving key and share the stories and mission of the charities we support.
