What do you love about your work?

There is so much that I love about my job. I love that my job is always changing. In one day I could work on an upcoming event, organize the food pantry, run a diaper drive or speak to organizations about LFCS. I love the people that I get to work with. We have an amazing staff and volunteers who are all passionate about the work LFCS does in our community.

What motivates or inspires you?

I am very lucky to have such an amazing support system in both my professional and personal life. My friends and family motivate me to be the best that I can be, and my coworkers inspire me to work as hard as I can. I have the pleasure of working with some of the hardest working people that I know, and that in itself is inspiring. When you see how selfless they can be with their clients, it makes me want to put that much more effort into doing a good job.

What's the most satisfying part about your work?

I love that I am able to help people in the community. Lutheran Family and Children's Services is not only an adoption agency, but it offers services to people of all ages dealing with all sorts of different issues. We have a Memory Matters class that I get to see because it is across the hall from my office on Mondays and Thursdays. That is a four-hour group for older adults experiencing early memory loss. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, so being a part of anything that could possibly make it easier for those suffering with the disease is a wonderful feeling. Even though I do not work with these individuals directly, I know that the money that I raise is helping to make their lives better.
