If I had to choose one thing I felt was the best thing to happen in our community in the last year, I would have to say the overall improvements that were made in our parks and recreation areas. The walk/bike trail improvements, the new baseball fields down at Shawnee coming together and the Jaycee golf course remodel were all much needed additions to our beautiful city. Then you cap it all off with the opening of the stunning new water park complex at the Osage Center, Cape Splash! As a proud parent of three young boys, we took great advantage of these wonderful additions and especially the water park. I know we created some wonderful, lasting memories that I hope will stay with my boys as long as it will with my wife and me. This community has been so incredible to my family and I that I hope we can continue to find ways to give back.
