Spartech Corp. expands in Cape

Spartech Corp. has expanded in Cape Girardeau with the addition of 14,000 square feet of warehouse space at its sheet division operation at 2500 Spartech Drive.

Tom Kelsey, commercial broker who handled the transaction, said the warehouse building at 229 Rear Broadview is adjacent to the Spartech factory complex. The expansion will allow the plastics manufacturer additional production and warehousing facility. Kelsey said the Wilferth family owns the leased property and formerly housed one of United Oil Co.'s warehousing facilities.

Spartech Corp., headquartered in Clayton, Mo., is a leading producer of engineered thermoplastic materials, polymeric compounds, and molded and profile products for a wide spectrum of manufacturing customers.

The company's three business segments, which operate out of 43 North American and European facilities, annually process more than 1.2 billion pounds of various plastic and plastic compounds.

In addition to the sheet division in Cape Girardeau, Spartech also has a plastic compounding operation at 4753 Nash Road.
