What is your vision for your business and/or your industry in 2012?

Nate Thomas, owner: Our vision is to continue to significantly decrease the unnecessary landfill disposal of construction materials in Cape and surrounding areas. Our aim is to make a 16-million pound reduction in landfill waste in the next 12 months. As a startup, we hope to grow responsibly to meet the increasing demand of the community for the services we are offering.

What role does your business play in the betterment of the community?

NT: Our business will supply jobs to the area, while also providing a convenient, cost-effective, and environmentally conscious solution for area businesses and homeowners in the disposal of their shingle/drywall/lumber waste. We hope to shift the mindset that construction material scrap has to be thrown away, when we can instead reprocess it so it can be reused for the benefit of the surrounding agricultural and transportation industries.

Tell us about one or two businesses, colleagues or organizations you work with in the community, and how you have helped one another.:

NT: We feel both thankful and very fortunate to have collaborated with a variety of area businesses and colleagues so far. We owe the construction of our facilities to J. Goehman Construction LLC, along with the support of the Bank of Missouri and the Missouri MAGNET program. The expertise of Bloomfield Road Lawn & Landscape, Inc. has been an incredible resource in the development of some of our recycled end products.
